Hello Summer!

I'm going to show my age if I say "I can't believe that it is June already" but it's exactly how I feel. I can't believe that it's time for summer vacation. What a fast year so far. June is one of my favorite months though because the sun rises early so I can begin my day at 5:30 with a walk outside. Enjoy your summers everyone. This blog has been very quiet...what's everyone doing?

A new restaurant opened up in Bennington (suburb of Omaha) called "Schettler's". Turns out that the owner is the son of Ray Schettler (Grandpa's brother). I think his name was David. Dad, Vera, Bob and I tried it out last weekend and they tell me that they have the "best" prime rib. I'm not a prime rib fan so I had the shrimp! It was yummy too. So, if you're ever in the Omaha area, support the relatives and give it a try.
June events that I have on record:

14th - Leo & Kathy's 38th wedding anniversary
15th - Barb (46) (Merle & MaryLou)
17th - Marvin (69)
30th - Lisa (41) (Marv & Fran)

Oh man, I may have to stop by Schettler's restaurant while in the midwest this summer and try the prime rib...

Ray Schettler's son - is it Kenny? I remember going to Ray & Rita's farm near Breda when we were little kids. They had way cooler toys than we had - or so it seemed. I remember a pogo stick that we fought over. Okay, someone correct me if this is the wrong family but this is who I remember from a "few" decades ago.

You are right Darlene. I talked with Dad and it is Kenny. He didn't really know him as a kid or in his younger days because Kenny is so much younger than he is.

Yup! It's Kenny. He has a sister, Laura, who is older than he. I think she is married to a Ludwig?? Laura's age is near Donna and I, and Kenny is closer in age nearer to Darlene and Barb. I remember staying with them while Mom had one of her babies. They only lived about a mile from our house near Breda. Ray used to play the organ for us.

Yeah - Kenny. Kenny had been living in Breda for the past few years running the golf course in town but decided to move back (his wife had stayed in the Omaha area). I hear it is a great place to eat. I know we miss him here in Breda - we hit the golf course after the girls ball games and he was the best cook!
