We've finally had a couple of days of beautiful summer weather here although the last few evenings have been blasted by a few thunderstorms to interrupt the College World Series games in Omaha. Council Bluffs was lucky to escape most of the serious damage...we saw plenty of rain and the Missouri and other rivers were high and caused flooding further south. We feel very sorry for everyone in eastern Iowa and along the Mississippi borders as it continues to cause destruction further down.
In our church bulletin today, they provided an address if you would like to send a donation to assist victims in the Diocese of Des Moines, Dubuque or Davenport. The address is:
2008 Flood Relief Diocese of Des Moines 601 Grand Avenue Des Moines, IA 502309
Or you can always send your donation to the American Red Cross and just indicate it is for the Midwest flooding victims.
