We were extremely sad to have left Lisa and her family in Portland this year while we made our annual trip back to the steamy midwest, but I still loved every humidity filled minute... I have to imagine that other people traveled and have pictures to share of family and vacations. Please post some pictures!

Lots of August birthdays! August 18th would also have been my mom's birthday. We miss her friendship, wisdom and how she liked to care for her family and grandkids. We all think about her often.

It's also feeling too adult-like in my house this month as this is the first time in 15 years when we are not involved in all of the back to school shopping and planning. Shane will be spending his first semester at home completing his internship instead of going back to school. So that's just a little strange to me!
