Lisa's update
We have had a lot of life changes in a very short time. Here is a quick update. A couple weeks ago my husband lost his job. Last week, he got a really good job offer in Portland Oregon. Yes, this is where Dawn lives, which is a bonus! And we put an offer on a house there, which was accepted yesterday. We close on the house on March 8. Now we just have to get our house sold here in Des Moines. Anyone looking???
Both of us always thought we would someday like to move away from Iowa and try living somewhere else. So, maybe this is the time to do it. The hardest part will be leaving family. I think the older you get, the more you realize that they are the most important thing. Though we are sad to leave both our families which are so close to us here, we are really excited about moving and starting a new chapter in our lives. If you are ever in the area, look us up!

Welcome to the Northwest! And trust me, I am already waiting anxiously for you to move so we can start swapping babysitting nights...
That is big news. I'm sure that Dawn will be very happy to have family nearby. I think your sister Karla is going to miss you very much though. Have fun with your new adventure!
Sure understand the feeling of losing a job. But you are very fortunate that another came along so quickly. My husband was laid off in August and will be interviewing for two positions 2/5 by phone. One in Miami and the other in Dallas. Pretty sure the Miami position is the shoo-in. This is a contracting position and hopefully he will be able to work from home here in Tennessee. We have had our share of moving in our 28 years of marriage. Best of luck to your family.
