st. thekla
http://www.antiochian.org/1440
Apparently the female counterpart to the name Luke Rudolph is Thekla. Thekla's middle name is something equally wacky (as only Grandpa could latch on to) that starts with a P that if someone could spell for me, I would be more than happy to look up. In any case, St. Thekla, though a looker, had one heck of a life with all the times people tried to do her in one way or another. Still, she managed to persevere and survive till 90.

sigh
I thought this thing was such a great idea in October, signed up, then promptly forgot about it. I got some freelance work, then was busy setting up a babysitting coop in my neighborhood, and now (are we STUPID?) are planning to move to a different house. We found a nice big old house just down the street from Mike's brother and his family, closer to Mike's new job, and walking distance from the synagogue and from the medical school where I plan to get my MS someday soon in Public Health. Plus there are a lot more kids in the neighborhood (not to mention Ben's 2 cousins up the street!). But it's nutty right now, getting the house spiffed up to show and sell, finishing all those D*$% unfinished projects. And now that our house looks so good and the projects are done, WHY was it we decided to move??? It does look like several people are interested in our house and we may even get enough for it to have some extra cash to spiff up the new house a bit with some nice paint and redoing the maple floors to look like our current ones. The maple floor in our current house are so great, I hate to give them up, but the new house has maple too, but a sort of dull greyish brown rahter than the warm golden tan our current floors have.
Ben will be one in 2 weeks (where did THAT year go?). I will post some recent pics of him soon, meanwhile I put up one of him and Grandma at the reunion last year.
Great to hear what people are up to. Has anyone visited Grandma lately, how is she doing? How does she feel about being in the care center?
